Upgrading to a Variable Speed Drive (VSD) compressor could save you $5,000 in energy costs every year.
This was exactly the outcome for a customer who recently upgraded their existing 15 kW stop-start compressor to a new VSD model – a calculated energy saving of $5,000 annually.
Is a VSD compressor right for your business?
If your compressed air needs fluctuate during the day, with varied demand and high off-load power consumption, a VSD compressor could significantly reduce your operating expenses by optimising energy use.
Plus, with the Federal Government’s 20% tax deduction on new energy-efficient assets for 2024/25, upgrading now could further boost your bottom line.

Tax deductions available for new VSD compressors
Don’t miss out on the Federal Government’s tax offset for energy efficient assets.
The Small Business Energy Incentive, passed by the Federal Parliament on 25 June 2024, provides a bonus 20 per cent tax deduction on eligible assets that support electrification and more efficient energy use.
What does the energy efficient tax offset mean for your business?
This incentive means that if you install a new, energy-efficient compressed air system, you may be able to access a tax deduction. Up to $100,000 of total expenditure is eligible for this incentive, with the maximum bonus tax deduction being $20,000.
Find out more about the tax incentive by visiting the Australian Tax Office website.
